What is Astrocartography?
Astrocartography is a form of location-based astrology. It maps the angular positions of the planets at your birth onto a world map, exploring symbolic themes associated with different places on Earth.
The Basic Concept
Your birth chart is calculated for a specific moment and location. But if you had been born at the same moment in a different city, your Rising sign — and the house positions of all your planets — would be different. The planets in your chart would have a different relationship to the local horizon and meridian.
Astrocartography works backwards from this principle. It asks: where on Earth would each of my natal planets have been exactly on the Ascendant? On the Midheaven? On the Descendant or Imum Coeli? The answers produce lines that can be plotted on a world map.
The Four Lines per Planet
Each planet produces four lines — one for each angular position:
Ascendant (AC) line
Where the planet was rising on the eastern horizon at your birth moment. Often associated with personal visibility and outward expression.
Midheaven (MC) line
Where the planet was at the highest point in the sky — the Midheaven. Often associated with career, public role and social standing.
Descendant (DC) line
Where the planet was setting on the western horizon. Often associated with relationships, partnerships and what you attract.
Imum Coeli (IC) line
Where the planet was at the lowest point — opposite the Midheaven. Often associated with home, roots and the private self.

Using Astrocartography Responsibly
Astrocartography is a symbolic tool for exploration and self-reflection. It does not predict what will happen to you in any given location. Many people live their whole lives far from any significant planetary line and have rich, fulfilling lives.
Do not use astrocartography as the sole basis for major decisions such as relocation, travel bookings or significant life changes. Always consider practical factors alongside symbolic ones. Readings are for entertainment only.
The most effective use of astrocartography is retrospective — looking at places you have already lived or visited and reflecting on whether the planetary themes seem to match your experience there. This builds intuition for how the system works for you personally before using it prospectively.
